Literature Text

I love her more than I love the sound of the ocean behind me
I love her more than I love the gentle touch of the sand beneath me
At lonely night when I am but a desert flower
She casts her spells on me from far away
And then I am bound, a slave to the dream she couldn't keep secret
She told me she saw herself clinging on to my shoulders and kissing my chest
As I caressed her neck and held her tight
I long for the soft skin and the arms covered in blood
I sigh for the depths of the eyes of the child
That I love oh so well, more than all life
I howl her name at the Moon as I imagine her Sun rise and I am but sheer desire
When she looks for the way to tell me
"I wither inside without my desert flower"
I try to seek refuge in the deep waters of the seas
Across the raging rivers, high in the hills
To hide from this madness in me
But the stars whisper her name softly to my ears
And the wind blows gently
To let me know there is no escaping this warm place I have found
In the arms of the one that I love.
"I always wondered
If love can be obscure and mad
From the eyes of a man"
